California (CARB) EVR Compliance Program Description
VST has developed and will manage all manufacturer training designed to train and certify Authorized Service Contractors (ASCs) for all of the VST Enhanced Vapor Recovery (EVR) products that will be sold and installed in California. This ASC training will be delivered through VST’s network of VST EVR Certified Trainers.
The Certified Trainers will:
- Obtain all training materials from VST
- Register their own students into the training
- Coordinate and manage their own training schedules
All ASCs will be managed and tracked through the VST ASC database, with each ASC being assigned his or her personal registration number.
How to Become a VST ASC
- Receive a registration number from VST:
- Go the VST website and download an ASC registration form.
- Complete the form.
- Fax or mail the completed form to VST.
- Be sure to attach your proof of current Veeder-Root pre-requisite documentation. (See the table of pre-requisiterequirements below.) Acceptable proof is:
- A copy of your Veeder-Root certification card Veeder-Root Level 1 or 2/3 or 4
- A copy of your Veeder-Root certification certificate Veeder-Root Level 1 or 2/3 or 4.
- Where applicable (VST Level C training), a copy of your Veeder-Root ISD certification.
- A letter from Veeder-Root acknowledging the proper Level of training.
- Receive your registration number from VST.
- You cannot register for ANY EVR training without first getting a registration number from VST.
- Enroll in training with the VST EVR Certified Trainer of your choice.
- Download the most current VST Executive Order (Exhibits and IOMs) from the VST or CARB website and take them to your training class.
- Take the training and pass the written tests.
- Receive your wallet card and wall certificate on the spot.
Steps the VST EVR Certified Trainers Take
- Receive candidate ASC enrollees into your scheduled training.
- Contact VST with a list of candidate ASC enrollees and their registration numbers.
- Request classroom materials. Student materials include:
- Copies of the overheads used in the training.
- Pre-Installation Site Survey
- Troubleshooting Guide
- ASC wallet card
- ASC wall certificate
- Tests
- Conduct the training / do the testing / issue certifications.
- Communicate with VST the newly certified ASCs.
VST EVR ASCs on the VST website
- Once VST receives the list of newly certified ASCs, VST will post those ASCs on the VST website.
